Marketing Officer

Role overview

• Actively participate in hospital marketing and communication campaigns and initiatives.
• Planning, Organizing and Rolling Out of Brand Activation events.
• Performing PR on print and digital platforms as approved by Management.
• Actively participate in GP visits and introduction of specialists to GP’s.
• Ensure all Marketing collateral, promotional materials and corporate merchandise is in line with the Shelly Beach Hospital branding and policies.
• Liaise with internal and external clients, such as staff, doctors, and patients.
• Actively partnering with HR on staff events.
• Actively driving and partnering with other stakeholders on CSI initiatives.
• Regularly perform patient satisfaction surveys and submit regular reports to management.
• Plan and control the specific marketing budget.
• Researching and implementing new and appropriate marketing strategies.
• Build and maintain relationships with Doctors (Internal and External).
• Actively promote the hospital, relations, services, and Doctors.
• Implement and maintain a hospital newsletter.
• Ensure regular meetings with the complaints committee (at least once in two months)
• Compile a report of complaints statistics to identify trends (monthly)
• Maintain a register for all complaints and compliments received.
• Review and maintain Media Policy for SBH.
• Managing of all media engagement including the hospital's social media accounts
• Advising senior management on marketing and public relations matters.
• Co-ordinate training sessions for internal staff members (on Customer Care Way), where necessary
• Maintain a health calendar and a program indicating activities in which the hospital supports and or participation.
• Co-ordinate with the local District health office in order to source information brochures and posters that will promote awareness in the district and local municipalities.
• Update the hospital webpage and noticeboards with recent newsworthy information.

Minimum requirements

  • Senior Certificate
  • Degree /National Diploma: Marketing Management or relevant qualification
  • Computer literacy especially in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • 2 years relevant customer care or marketing experience
  • Work experience in the healthcare sector, and in a corporate environment will be an advantage.
  • Valid Driver’s License with own transport

  • Ability to work under pressure on various projects simultaneously and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Project management skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Superior command of the English language.

  • Capable of making decisions timeously and taking responsibility for the consequences.
  • Capacity to plan, organize and control own work environment by setting appropriate priorities and achieving set objectives within a given timeframes.
